Why this site exists
Within hours of launch, most coverage of dots was repeating one of two mistakes: describing a different company's product that shares the name, or filling gaps in OpenAI's documentation with confident guesses. Availability, credits, and add-on pricing were reported as settled facts when OpenAI had published almost nothing about them.
This site does the opposite. We read the primary sources — OpenAI's launch post, the safety write-up, the help center, and the GPT-6 Astra model page — then write down exactly what they say, stamp it with a date, and label everything else as unconfirmed.
What we do
- Explain what dots are and what they can do, using OpenAI's own wording.
- Track availability: which plans, which regions, what is still beta.
- Separate published facts from open questions (see our source index).
- Publish corrections instead of silently rewriting pages.
What we are not
- We are not OpenAI, and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by them.
- We are not a rumors site. We do not publish unannounced products as if they shipped.
- We do not accept payment for coverage. Advertising is clearly labelled and separate from editorial.
Who writes it
DotsWatch is written and edited by the DotsWatch Editorial team. We publish in English because English-language search demand for dots is the largest, and because OpenAI's primary documents are written in English — quoting them directly matters more than paraphrasing.
